The Virtual Machine configurations from TARGIT are deployed with only a default system disk. As you begin migrating your data, we recommend you add one or more data disks with the necessary capacity to hold your data. Even if you believe that the available space on the system disk is sufficient, we still recommend adding specific data disks for performance reasons.

There are different storage options available for creating your data disk(s) and they are continuously improving and changing. Therefore, check the current Azure storage options and pricing for the best match of performance, capacity and pricing.
For Virtual Machine configurations that include SQL Server, we recommend updating the default Database Engine and Analysis Services data directories after adding your new data disk(s).
